Killin’ It
Turf murder with Maddie Maher and Kenton Seth
Whether reducing maintenance, saving water, or planting something more useful or beautiful, sometimes the lawn must die. Maddie and Kenton will discuss the dirty history and the innocent potential of turf before outlining more than eight popular and unpopular ways to kill it. Most importantly, we’ll discuss why different methods are best for different situations. From the nuances of herbicides to the implications of what will replace the lawn, we’re talking about it all.
This two-hour online class is aimed at homeowners and professionals; we’re doubling down on demystifying the decision process of choosing the weapon you’ll use when you are Killin’ It. Attendees will also be supplied with our own secret weapon: a tool to navigate the major lawn-killing methods, developed by ourselves and colleagues.
June 20, 10am-12:30pm Mountain Standard Time, on Zoom.
$50 (2 hours class, 30 min questions/discussion)
A recording will be available for a month after. (Registration closes June 17)

The Crevice Build Intensive:
Taught by Kenton Seth, hosted by Maddie Maher.
They’re not a fad; they are here to stay. Crevice Gardens– like miniature mountains with small plants- are now in most American Botanic Gardens, which has driven their popularity in home landscapes in the US and beyond. They have even been covered by the Wash Post and NY Times. Folks interested in wildflowers, natives, pollinators, recycled materials, budget hardscapes, rain gardens, and xeriscape are all adapting crevice gardens for their goals. From tiny to massive, from budget to luxury, to cheaper and more functional alternatives to retaining walls, crevice gardens solve a variety of problems in a variety of places. From an author of the 2022 sold-out book on crevice gardens, with perhaps as many builds under his belt as anyone else alive, comes this practical class to train new builders. Crevice Gardens are a lucrative new offering for landscapers and an adaptable and meaningful amenity for gardeners.
